Exodus 23:29-30
29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.
As the children of Israel began the process of occupying the promised land, God begins to prepare them. I'm sure they wanted to quickly go in and possess the land, it's human nature to want things to happen right now, patience is a learned virtue. But God told his people this battle will not be won overnight or even in a year, it will take some time. You will win this battle, little by little, until you eventually have victory. The reason? If I drive the inhabitants out in one day the land will waste because no one will be there to maintain it, so a day by day, battle by battle, slow process over time is more beneficial for you.
Some things in life are best when it happens little by little. A broken heart that heals, a relationship that is mended, the growth of a ministry, becoming a supervisor on your job, wealth is better when it's earned over time.
Everything in life is a process, trust God's timing and purpose, and don't overlook the little things.
