Mark 1:17
And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
Peter, Andrew, James, and John were fishermen by trade when Jesus called them to be apostles, and He told them He would teach them how to reach men with the gospel. They didn't have cell phones, internet, or social media to get the gospel to the world just a burden to see people saved. So they began going from village to village telling people the good news, praying for sick people, and helping people with problems.
It wasn’t long before the crowds were so large a person couldn't get close to Jesus. I'm convinced if we genuinely care about people, and show them how much we care, they will come to Jesus. The message is powerful: Jesus loves everyone, He died for me, and anyone can be forgiven. I don't know of any message as compelling as the Gospel.
We should carry it like it's the most important news a person will ever hear. We should clothed ourselves in humility and compassion when sharing the story of Jesus. We shouldn't just tell the world we care, but show them how much we care. Kindness is a magnet, a lure, if you will, that people are attracted to. A personal witness from a grateful heart will always be the most powerful way to reach the world for Christ.
