Don't Quit Now

Mark 5:25-34

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

She had been sick for twelve years, not because she hadn't sought help, she had exhausted every possible means to find help. The issue of being sick, not to mention the things that just everyday life brings, has caused her a great deal of suffering. She has walked to see the best doctors, she has spent her life's savings trying to find a cure. Now, her money is gone, only to find the issue has grown worse.

I can see her sitting in the corner of her empty home, placing her head into her hands, and weeping in disappointment. But then she hears about Jesus. In her weakness she presses her way through the crowd for she knows He is her only hope. She can't move anyone with her strength, but her persistence and soft gentle shaking voice saying "please excuse me, please" gets her to where she needs to be. Her situation causes her knees to buckle, she reaches out, touches the hem of his garment, and immediately she is healed. Some Simple life lessons I'd like you to notice.. 1. Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. 2. There are times you will have to PRESS to get to Him. 3. There are times God allows problems to draw you closer to Him. 4. There are times that God will allow you to do all you can, for you to realize, you can't do anything without Him. 5. Faith works no matter how long or how bad the issues. Keep pressing on! Press on through the fear, press on through the doubt, press on through the discouraging crowd, press on through your weaknesses. JUST GET TO JESUS! REMINDER: It wasn't the garment he felt, it was the touch of faith
